Yorkshire oak and lead bat box

MAB Environment & Ecology have teamed up with local craftsmen Paul Bulmer Furniture to create a range of top quality long-lasting environment-friendly English oak bat boxes. All our boxes are specially designed as maternity (breeding) roosts, with a range of internal conditions provided. These deluxe boxes were originally designed for use on historic buildings and have been put up on several listed buildings in Yorkshire and County Durham.

Our boxes have an special internal design with a series of baffles (made from sustainable birch ply) to provide a range of crevices with differing temperature profiles. The roof is covered with lead, a natural product that avoids the need for preservatives or varnishes. The bat boxes are designed to last at least 20 years. All of our boxes will weather naturally, a characteristic of untreated English oak.

We also sell a heated bat box which is useful in mitigation projects where the original roost contained a heat source, such as heating pipes or boiler flues. In our heated boxes, all the electrics are hidden from view.

To place an order simply complete the form and we'll send you an invoice.
